Sgt. Poopers Pest Control Benefits
Fire ant mound in a Dallas, Texas backyard.
Each year, according to recent studies (and the EPA),
- Five billion pounds of pesticides are applied in homes and lawns across the United States
- 95% of the pesticides routinely used on residential lawns contain carcinogens
- 98% of sprayed insecticides migrate to destinations other than their intended target
- 99% of children have pesticides in their urine.
As a comparative, Big Tobacco puts 599 ingredients in cigarettes that when burned create 7,000 chemicals for people to inhale (including 69 carcinogens). If that's Big Tobacco's idea of a product for human consumption, what might be Big Chemical's idea of a product intended to be poison?
We refuse to make your environment even more toxic. Our pest control agents are all-natural non-toxic essential oils from plants. Such oils include cedarwood, orange, neem, citronella, thyme, lemongrass, tea tree, geranium, lavender, peppermint, sage, rosemary, clove, sesame, wintergreen, garlic, and more. Molasses also has effective uses. We've tested various products and have found what worked.
Using a multi-step filtration process, our essential oil is purified of all unnecessary contaminants and any other potentially harmful ingredients. They do not contain phenols or phenolic compounds which can be harmful to birds. In fact, our essental oils are so non-toxic they do not require regulation by the EPA and cannot be over applied.

All-Natural Essential Oils for Non-Toxic Pest Control
The story of essential oils is woven through the pages of history. For example, cedarwood oil has been used for thousands of years for its insecticidal, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial properties. American Indians, Egyptians, Phoenicians relied on it. Mamals, birds, fish, lizards and beneficial insects are not harmed by cedar oil. Pressed from the heartwood of native Texas cedar, Juniperus ashei, cedar is one of the few pest-control agents that cannot be over-applied and is categorized as exempt by the EPA.
The main ingredient of orange oil, D-limonene comes from orange peels and is non-toxic to humans yet devastating to insect where it causes dehydration and asphyxiation by dissoving their exoskeleton.
Oil from the Neem tree is an effective pesticide while proper usage is non-toxic to humans, mammals, earthworms, birds, fish, and beneficial insects like butterflies, honeybees and ladybugs. Like cedarwood oil, neem is a superb and highly effective yet non-toxic deterrent against plant infestation by aphids and mealybugs, plus it is effective against ants, mosquitoes, roaches, flies, termites and more.
The examples by which essential oils compliment human life are many. Other natural compounds like molasses can be used in combination for specific applications. For example, the combination of orange oil and molasses kills fire ants without poisoning the soil.
The Best Way to Stop Pests
The right combination of all-natural essential oils kills and repels pests like fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, ants, mites and more in seven ways:
NAVIGATION: They can block an insects ability to smell or navigate to sources of food (you).
DEHYDRATION: They draw moisture from insects to kill them.
DISRUPTION: They block certain pheromones and/or hormones to disrupt bodily processes like breathing. For example, cedar oil affects pheromone-driven pests like fleas and ticks by blocking a neurotransmitter unique to insects and invertibrates called octopamine. Octopamine is responsible for regulating heart rate, movement, and behavior in pest insects.
PENETRATION: Some, like cedar oil and orange oil dissolve the thin exoskeleton of bugs which kills them.
EMULSIFICATION: Essential oils can liquify the fat that bugs need to live.
SUFFOCATION: Essential oils a long with compounds like molasses can causes bugs to close their breathing holes (called spiracles) which suffocates them.
NEUTRALIZATION: They neutralizes acidity within a buy's body, throwing their pH fatally out of balance.
Our pest control agents are non-toxic to people, pets, birds and beneficial insects. Where and how we apply an essetial oil is tailored to the problem. For example, the tactics for mosquitoes is different from the tactics for ants. With a comprehensive playbook of tactical protocols for pest elimination, we are well equipt to do the job while also providing a safe non-toxic environment for you and your family.
In contrast to traditional exterminators who spray once a quarter, once a month, or once every two or three weeks, Sgt. Poopers comes 52 times per year providing a better product at less cost to you.
Mosquito control $19.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
Sgt. Poopers provides the lowest-cost highest-quality mosquito control to block the spread of heart worms, Zika, West Nile virus, c, encephalitis, dengue, yellow fever, and malaria. We are the only provider that sprays weekly — you get 2x, 3x, or 4x the visits throughout mosquito season. Our essential oil kills mosquitoes on contact. It also repels like a skunk in a bakery. We blast mosquitoes out of bushes, nooks and crannies where they hide during the day. Our treatment is safe for kids, pets, birds, and beneficial insects. It's one of the few pest-control agents that cannot be over-applied and is categorized as exempt by the EPA. We can even visit daily.
Flea Control $19.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
Sgt. Poopers provides excellent flea control that instantly decimates the flea population for $18.95 per weekly treatment. Our treatment combines the power of an essential oil spray with the power of non-toxic cedar granules (monthly application). You will see the flea population vanish instantly. However, fleas lay eggs constantly plus new eggs are delivered fresh into your yard each day by wild animals like squirrels, rabbits, and raccoons. Flea eggs are not sticky, so just fall from the fur of wild animals. With fresh fleas being replenished daily, keeping them at bay is an on-going program throughout flea season which lasts from May until December. To kill fleas, we focus on places where flees breed such as along a perimeter fence where dogs run. Squirrels also run along the tops of fences, shedding fleas and flea eggs as they go.
Tick Control $19.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
While mosquitoes can survive on plant juices instead of blood, ticks eat only blood. Mice, rats, raccoons, and birds shower fresh tick eggs into your yard daily, so tick control efforts must be maintained throughout the season. Unlike chigggers, which are a horrible itchy nuisance, ticks carry many life-threatening diseases. To get rid of ticks, Sgt. Poopers goes through your yard and sprays anywhere that could be harboring ticks including flowers, shrubs, weeds, and grasses.
Chigger Control $19.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
Chiggers (or "red bugs") inject digestive enzymes into the skin of humans and dogs and feed upon the decomposed tissue. Unlike ticks, North American chiggers do not transmit any diseases but their bite causes intense itching that lasts for days and which will keep you awake at night. We treat yards for chiggers by spraying grass and low plants with our all-natural essential oil to kill them.
Mite Control $19.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
Mites are a problematic bug related to spiders that infest birds, animals, humans, and grass. Our essential oil kills them in the yard where they are deposited.
Wasp Control $24.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic once-per-year treatment
The best way to control wasps like yellow jackets is to prevent them from making nests under the porches, patios, and decks of your house, in playground equipment, and in certain bushes like Pyracantha or firethorn. One application of our secret blend of essential oils prevents wasps from building nests on your property all year! Our proprietary blend is invisible to the eye, but sprayed on the underside of porches, patios and other locations keeps the area free of nests all season. Prevents nests of mud daubers, too!
Ant Control $14.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
For ants, we create a barrier around the foundation of your home that ants will not cross. In this way we keep ants outside where they belong. Once a week, we renew the perimeter barrier to keep it active. It is very effective.
Fire Ant Mounds $34.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic treatment per mound
Fire ants pose are different problem because they will aggressively attack any pet or child who accidentally steps upon their nest. For them, we pour 2 to 3 gallons of boiling water laced with essential oils. This treatment kills the ant population and the queen without infusing toxic pesticides into your soil.
Roach Control $14.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
The best way to keep the outdoor roach population down is to take away their food source: dog waste. Our essential oils also drive them away.
FlY Control $14.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
Flies are filth insects that prospers by spreading disease. The more sickness, the more there is for them to eat. Our essential oils, plus an active program of dog waste removal are the best answers to a fly free yard.
Rat and Mice Control $14.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
Rats mark "safe" areas with urine and once marked, they will continue to come back to the same locations for sex and food. Our two step process breaks the chain, (1) by deodorizing their urine the area is no longer marked safe, and (2) our essential oil irritates their nasal passage so they go find some other place to hang out.
Possum Control $14.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
This is one "pest" you want to see hanging around your house because they eat thousands of ticks per year. Ticks are drawn to possums, but the possum is a fastidious cleaner and eats 95% of them which keeps ticks off your dogs. They also catch and eat cockroaches and mice and other critters you don't like. However sometimes possums cause problems by defecating in a place (like a garage). We can solve that by disinfecting and treating with a certain essential oil that repels possums. In our experience, one treatment usually lasts a couple of months.
Scorpion Control $14.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
Scorpions were plentiful in Dallas until 1966 when they were inadvertently wiped out by the city's spraying of DDT for mosquitoes. The DDT also decimated the once ubiquitous Texas horned lizard or horny toad. However if you live in an area where scorpions exist, we can help. Our essential oil is astonishingly effective at repelling scorpions. We can create a barrier around your house or yard which they will not cross.
Snake Control $14.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic weekly treatments
Snakes are also effectively repelled by certain essential oils. We create a barrier that they will not cross. This is especially valuable for people who live next to a pond, creek, or woods to keep rattle snakes, copperheads, and water moccasins out of the yard and away from your house.
Aphid Control $14.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic Weekly treatments
Aphids not only suck the life out of certain plants, shrubs and trees (like crape myrtles) they infect those plants with up to 110 plant viruses. We can destroy any aphid population with our essential oil. We recommend regular spraying to keep them at bay since when necessary, aphids simply sprout wings and fly off to infect a new host plant. Aphid excrement also causes black mold to grow on plants that exacerbates the problems.
Mealybug Control $14.95 — all-Natural, Non-Toxic Weekly treatments
Mealybugs are disgusting little blobs of fuzz containing an insect that kills your plants. The most effective solution is the same as for aphids, a certain essential oil that kills them dead.
Synthetic Pesticide Warning
At https://www.poisonpapers.org/ you'll find nearly 100 years of documented criminal activity establishing an on-going pattern of collusion, deception and coverup. The “Poison Papers” are described as a trove of chemical-industry and regulatory-agency documents stretching back to the 1920s from the EPA, USDA, FDA, Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and the US Forest Service. Chemical manufacturers referenced in the documents include: Dow Chemical, Monsanto, DuPont, Union Carbide, and more including various commercial testing companies. Documents show that both industry and regulators have consistently worked to conceal the toxicity of chemical products pointing to a need for a change which can start in your own backyard. In 2017, yet another official was allegedly caught bragging about killing an EPA investigation into Monsanto.
Case in point: The Shell No Pest Strip. In 1966, Shell chemical launched a new product with a blitz of television ads. The Shell No-Pest Strip was a flat pack which opened into a box with holes. Into the box slid a yellow sheet of plastic impregnated with insecticide. My own gullible parents let me open the foil pouch and insert the No-Pest Strip into the container. Consumers were instructed to hang the strip in kitchens, over baby cribs, and dining rooms. Every Shell station had a No-Pest Strip hanging up in the corner.
If any flies or mosquitoes got into the building, the toxic vapors would attack their nervous system and cause them to die. The only problem was the Shell No-Pest Strip also attacked the nervous systems of human beings.
The insecticide used was called dichlorvos—also known as 2,2-dichlorovinyl demethyl phosphate or DDVP. Later studies found it to be a carcinogenic and neurotoxin. DDVP was originally accepted and registered by the USDA in 1963 over the protests of USDA pharmacologist Dr. Thomas Von Sumter. Two years later, a public health service committee, decided to discontinue registration because there had been no tests to determine toxic effects of long-term inhalation. Inexplicably, Dr. John Leary, a USDA scientist, objected. He left his job and within a few months landed a cushy position with... (you guessed it) Shell.
Sales of the No-Pest Strip launched in 1966. Right away people begin to experience neurological damage including headache, respiratory problems, difficulty breathing, nausea, asthma attack, respiratory distress requiring hospitalization, paresthesias, and incoordination. Short-term effects included the inability to walk, chest discomfort, constriction of pupils, muscular twitching, unconsciousness, and seizures. Long term effects included slowness of thinking, memory defects, irritability, and delayed reaction times. DDVP was found to cause birth defects and fetal death in laboratory rats.
In 1987, after dragging their heals for more than two decades, the EPA finally officially linked DDVP in pest strips to an unusually high cancer risk. Due to public outcry, Shell discontinued distribution in the United States, but continued to sell it in Mexico and without any warning label as required in the USA. In fact, the Mexican labels continued to recommend hanging the strip in kitchens, bedrooms and above baby cribs.
Be Your Own Watchdog
This is the story of but one chemical pesticide, DDVP, which incidentally is still the active ingredient in flea collars for cats and dogs. There are dozens, scores, hundreds of other highly toxic chemical substances which are still being sold in the US. Synthetic pesticides sometimes contain banned toxins as "contaminates" — like dioxin, written off as the inadvertent byproduct of the manufacturing process and not mentioned on the label as an ingredients.
When a watchdog agency like the USDA abdicates their job, the job becomes yours and mine. You might not know anything about chemistry. But at least you're ethical and that beats corrupt every time. You can start by keeping your home and property pesticide-free. In Dallas, you can dispose of hazardous household waste by taking them to the Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center at 11234 Plano Road in northeast Dallas.
Pest Control Prices
These are average prices. Your price may vary based on size of yard and how frequently we visit. We can even spray 2 or 3 times per week for even lower cost per visit. Prices are not cumulative. For example, mosquito protection will also control many other insects at no extra charge!
