Introduction
All-Natural Non-Toxic Ant Control
Sgt. Poopers provides all-natural ant control for all types of ants in Dallas, Texas. We also destroy fire ants mounds in your yard using non-toxic protocols. Prices start at just $14.95 a week for ant control (to keep them out of your house) and $34.95 to destroy fire ant mounds.
Our Ant Control keeps ants out of the house by creating an deterring perimeter around the foundation of your home. This bug-blocking perimeter stops ants at the entry point. Our treatment also repels other insect pests like termites, rats, mice, and cockroaches.
Unlike synthetic pesticides, our control agent is safe—100% natural, all-organic that is non-toxic to humans, pets, plants, and beneficial insects like bees and butterflies. It is an essential oil sourced in Texas using a multi-step filtration process, purified of all unnecessary contaminants and any other potentially harmful ingredient. It does not contain phenols or phenolic compounds which can be harmful to birds. In fact, this essential oil is so safe it does not require regulation by the EPA and cannot be over applied. Sprayed on the foundation of a house, a barrier is created that ants will not cross. The company that makes our essential oil has thousands of five-star reviews like this one,
“We have found this product to be very effective against fire ants and very much appreciate that it's non-toxic to people and pets.” - MF
How to Identify Fire Ants
With fire ants, most people learn to respect them "the hard way" by stepping onto a nest. Fire ants are indistinguishable from other species of ants, but there is one sure way to identify them. Poke a stick into their ant mound. Fire ants will swarm up the stick. Regular ants do not climb. If you find a fire ant mound, contact Sgt. Poopers right away at (214) 563-6379.
Fire ants are not inclined to enter houses. They commonly set up nests in the middle of yards, under sidewalks, and at the base of trees. If you, a child or dog makes the mistake of stepping on a nest of fire ants, the resulting attack can be excruciating and even deadly for people who are allergic to their venom (ants are descendent from wasps).
To handle this threat, we use our all-natural organic repellent combined with boiling water. The hot water penetrates all branches of the nest instantly killing the colony. The repellent ensures none returns to the nest.
Synthetic Pesticide Warning
Traditional exterminators may make the same errors that resulted in deadly exposure from Agent Orange. Used by the Air Force during the Vietnam War, Agent Orange was a control agent so toxic it eventually killed everyone, even the soldiers who sprayed it. What made Agent Orange so deadly? A "contaminant" called dioxin. It wasn't even there as an official ingredient. In reality, dioxin was there because it is a common byproduct of herbicide and pesticide manufacturing and continues to be so today.
Since dioxin was not an "official" ingredient, the color-coded barrels came with no warnings, just an orange stripe. Servicemen were told the chemicals were "completely safe" and "completely harmless."
But Agent Orange was a mixture of two chemicals: 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T. It was supposed to remain toxic for a few weeks then break down. But the dioxin contaminant went on killing for decades! Dioxin has NO safe level of human exposure. Production of Agent Orange and it's component of 2,4,5-T were halted or banned decades ago. By report, 2,4-D is still in production as a common component of more than 70 products including Weed B Gone, Scott's Weed and Feed, Miracle Grow Weed and Feed, and more.
Recent research in Australia found that 2,4-D and other pesticides made by American companies are still, today, contaminated because dioxin remains a common "accidental" byproduct from the application of heat during the manufacturing process. To be clear, dioxin—a deadly toxin—is an unlisted ingredient (contaminant) in many synthetic pesticides and herbicides including 2,4-D. The problem with synthetic poisons is nobody knows if any particular batch is really safe because manufacturers don't test for the presence of dioxin. So consumers are just taking it on trust, just like the thousands of American servicemen and Vietnamese who died thanks to Agent Orange.
Fire ants are not so dangerous that you should gamble with your health. Fire ants are a big problem that surrenders to a light touch: hot water and non-toxic essential oil, a substance with no history of contaminants or false assurances leading to sickness, birth defects or death.
Why Do Fire Ants Hurt So Much?
Fire ant venom is in the same family as wasps and bees. In fact, it is thought that ants evolved from wasps about 100 million years ago.
Most ants use their mandibles (vertical jaws) to bite or they spray formic acid. Fire ants bite, then use their abdominal stingers to inject a toxic venom repeatedly. It burns like fire.
When fire ants perceive a threat, for example a child who inadvertently steps on a nest of fire ants, the ants rush out in huge numbers and swarm onto the victim, but they don't sting right away. They pause, then on cue they all sting and sting and sting... until someone brushes them off. They are highly dangerous, especially for children, pets, and anyone who might have an allergic reaction to the venom.
How to Stop the Pain of Fire Ant Bites
People who are already known to be allergic to bee or wasp venom will often be allergic to fire ants as well. If there's any allergic reaction, call 911 or rush the victim to the nearest hospital. Allergic reactions to fire ant bites include the following symptoms:
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Disorientation
- Wheezing
Common reaction to fire ant bites includes instant searing pain, on-site swelling, redness, and itching. This is not medical advice and we are not doctors. But there are some home remedies to alleviate the pain from wasps or fire ants.
- Applying a paste of wet baking soda to the bite area. I've seen two five year olds laughing about it minutes later because the pain diminished so fast.
- Daub or spray clear ammonia directly onto the sting site. I've done this myself. The pain will immediately vanishes as long as the site stays wet with ammonia. When it dries in a few minutes, the paint will return. So be ready to re-wet the area for about an hour. The pain is zero as long as it is wet, but the duration of the process is probably longer than with baking soda.
- By report, people say meat tenderizer also works, but personally I've never tried it.
