These days cars come with multiple wireless systems: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, OnStar, InCar W-Fi, U-Connect, Car-Net, Navigation, lane changing, automatic braking, and meteor sensing. None of these systems are really necessary and all can be used to monitor you or violate your privacy.
In some cases, these systems can wirelessly, randomly reach out in the middle of the night for updates even when the car is in your garage and no one is inside. Tesla cars do it. If you have an attached garage or a garage under your bedroom, that is not good for your health. Such a burst of radiation might just wake you up, like getting a flashlight shined in your race since your brain cannot distinguish between microwave radiation and visible light (which is just a higher frequency radiation on the same spectrum).
To shut down automotive sources of toxic radiation you will need to disable each system. Step one will be to find out which systems your car has. For Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, once you have "paired" one of these systems with your smart phone, they will continue to ping or search for the phone every few seconds whenever the car is in use. Essentially what you need to do is delete any phone that happens to be in the car's memory. Otherwise the router will be constantly checking to see if the remembered cell phone is present. To disable the function and stop the radiation, just go into your car's infotainment system and delete your any device that have been paired in the past. Once all devices have been deleted, your car will no longer constantly search for them. If you don't know how to access your car's Bluetooth or Wi-Fi settings, consult the owner's manual.
For example, here's how to disable the U-connect system for Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, Jeep and Ram. Select Menu / Settings / Reset. By resetting to factory settings you will delete the saved record of any paired phones and Bluetooth will stop searching for devices every couple of seconds... meaning it blasts everyone in the vehicle every couple of seconds the entire time you are inside with the ignition on.
