The words "dumpster" and "stink" go together naturally. Like "evil" and "clown," "keys" and "missing." But it doesn't have to be that way.
What your dumpster needs is weekly disinfection and deodorization by Sgt. Poopers. For just $11.95, we eradicate the cause of the smell in your dumpster — bacteria. Additional dumpsters are just $3.00 to $5.00 depending on their size. Business dumpsters commonly come in sizes measured by the cubic yard — 2, 4, 6 or 8 yards.
When your nose tells you something smells "bad" you should listen. The living protoplasm from which your body is made was handed down to you by your parents and parent's parents in an ever-living chain of human biology that learned by experience. It is smarter than you think. Odors that smell "bad" represent a threat to your health.
Cleaning alone will not remove odor-causing bacteria because bacteria encase themselves in a slimy survival bunker for protection. This microscopic bunker is called biofilm and makes bacteria 1,000 times more resistant to antimicrobials. Biofilm contains everything a colony of bacteria needs to survive: shelter from detergents, internal plumbing, reservoirs to collect rainwater and nutrients.
Our high-power but safe chemistry penetrates biofilm instantly to oxidize germs and odors at the molecular level within seconds. Result: odors instantly gone. Our EPA-approved, CDC-listed, NSF-certified, no-rinse food-grade hospital disinfectant/deodorizer kills 99.999% of germs in less than a minute. Yet it's NON TOXIC to humans. It's the same agent used to stop EBOLA when it struck Dallas in 2014. After we disinfect and deodorize, we treat each dumpster with cedar oil to kill or repel disease-bearing mosquitoes, flies, roaches, rats and mice.
Dumpster Odor Removal
As mentioned, normal cleaners just don't faze biofilm so they don't stop the stink. Biofilm can easily withstand antibacterial detergents and even antibiotics. Some disinfectants claim to "kill 99% of bacteria on contact" but therein lies the catch. Once bacteria are safely sheltered within their survival biofilm bunker, many disinfectants can't actually contact the bacteria inside. If a disinfectant could kill all bacteria including bacteria inside biofilm (it's natural habitat) it could simply say "kills 99% of bacteria" without the "on contact." Bacteria encased in slimy biofilm are 1,000 times more resistant to antibiotics than the same bacteria swimming around outside.
Traditional deodorizing agents have other problems, as well. For example, chlorine bleach can produce fumes containing trihalomethanes (THM) and haloacetic acids (HAAS) which have been linked to cancer.
Our Eco-friendly, EPA-approved, CDC-listed, NSF-certified, no-rinse food-grade hospital disinfectant kills 99.999% of germs within 60 seconds. To earn the mantle, “Hospital Disinfectant” the EPA requires an agent be proven to kill Pseudomonas aeruginosa—a nasty type of bacteria that hides within biofilm and is difficult to eliminate. Our disinfectant even kills superbug germs like,
- HAIs: Healthcare Associated Infections
- ca-MRSA: community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
- ha-MRSA: the highly drug-resistant hospital-acquired MRSA
- HPAI: Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza
In fact, when Ebola hit Dallas in 2014 and started to kill everyone exposed to it, it was this agent that stopped the spread and broke the chain of infection. Our disinfectant has a ten-year track record of outstanding success and safety. In fact, it's so safe it is not required to rinse from food preparation areas when sprayed directly on them.
How to Eliminate Dumpster Odor
Our deodorizing agent is not a poison. It doesn't kill by being toxic. Instead, it reacts with the amino acids of the proteins in bacterial cell walls causing bacteria and viruses to rupture and die. They are thus chemically "oxidized" and die within 60 seconds. It penetrates the protective outer coating of slimy biofilms whether hard or soft, and destroys the bacteria within even at very low concentrations. There is no need to mechanically remove the aftereffects.
Viruses have a viral envelop surrounding core proteins and DNA. Our disinfectant destroys the viral envelop and their core proteins which destroys the virus.
Bacteria are destroyed in similar fashion, first to go are proteins in the cell wall. This works on both gram negative and gram positive bacteria.
It also kills mold, mildew, spores, and allergens like cat, dog, and rodent dander; plus dust mite and cockroach allergens.
Destroying Odor By Oxidation
As part of the EPA's evaluation process, products are assigned a toxicity category. The categories range from Category 1 (highly toxic) to Category 4 (no exposure warnings required on the label). Our disinfectant received an EPA Category 4 rating for all exposures with the only exception being the possibility of mild eye irritation if you were to spray it directly into your eye.
Our disinfectant is non-corrosive so it won't hurt your dumpster at all. It's also non-flammable and non-explosive. Once the harmful bacteria have been oxidized, there is nothing left to create any odor. Your business, store, restaurant, school, hospital, or pet clinic can be completely odor free which will ensure customers and clients have a better experience.
Repelling Insects, Roaches, Mice and Rats
Insects and wildlife feast on garbage. Flies, roaches, mice, rats, and raccoons dine handsomely in dumpsters. Well-fed varmints are the last thing you want around your commercial business, since they are likely to hang. And so by keeping your dumpster free of germs and odors, you can deter unwanted pests.
So after we disinfect and deodorize your dumpster, we then treat it with cedar oil which is a natural non-toxic pest control agent. It kills or repels disease-bearing mosquitoes on the spot. And it also repels flies, roaches, rats and mice, all of whom can't stand the smell of cedar.
Sgt. Poopers has solved the two worst problems that have plagued dumpsters since they were first invented by the Dempster Brothers—George Roby, Thomas and John—and put into commercial use in 1936, in Knoxville, Tennessee. The idea wasn't just to have a giant garbage can, but one that could be emptied by a front-loading truck called the Dempster Dumpmaster. These Scottish men were smart people. Before getting into the garbage business, they built roads, railroads and small dams throughout Appalachia. George Roby had an uncanny sense for opportunity as proven by the fact that he graduated from the Girls High School in Knoxville in 1906, serving as Class President. He also operated a steam shovel on the Panama Canal where he gained an appreciation of heavy machinery, rock slides and typhoid fever.
